What is it about buying makeup or perfume that is so addictive to me?

It’s the fantasy that I will suddenly exit said store and be simply transformed and gorgeous. It’s seductive. The whole thing.
I noticed it today upon entry to Neiman Marcus. There are almost stage lights in there.  There is the buzz if women shopping. Clic clac of their heels. Spritzing of perfume. Whispers amongst them of secrets….secrets to good skin. To attracting a man. To sex.  (told you it comes back to that).
Then there is the colors…the palette of variations, the tiny elegant brushes, the packaging. Love the black packages with gold or pink. Love the tiny tubs of creamy colors. Love the possibility that this one lipstick will make my lips like Angelinas. (yes I am that delusional and dumb). And a new
perfume is best of all….the ultimate accessory to any outfit.
Here is a short list of my very favorite standard makeups:  (I will continue to blog about my discoveries)
Foundation:  Best of all over is Chantacaille.  Killer smooth. Excellent coverage (yes, I need that a bit)
Concealer: Cle de Peau.  Can’t beat it. It’s expensive but will last FOREVER.  You will need a makeup concealer brush if possible.
Rouge (we called it that in my day). I like Nars the multiple.  Many women like “orgasm” but I’m thinking they buy that for the name.  Again what an image of blushing cheeks after that moment.  No wonder it sells.   I like “Cannes” ( which might mean I’d rather be in france than having sex if you are following my logic)
more to come…..
