So we left off when I was still drawn to the incense and the chai but had no shaktipat.  Simply put.

I was also puzzled by how these gals found their “Guru” from a video and how they were shaktipat-ed.

I guess you could say I was in search for shakitpat and as you will come to know if you stick around this blog for a while…what Karenoia wants, karenoia gets.  I am a persistent searcher.

I went on a trip to see my family where I thought about taking a yoga class from a friend’s son who had left his conventional life to teach yoga.  I called him to ask about the classes and while on the phone I said to him…”hey, have you heard of this thing called “shakitpat?”  “Oh of course, he said.  I have gotten in a bunch of times.”  “YOU DID????” I said, “FROM WHOM OR WHERE?”

He explained that he had this teacher and that the teacher had an ashram and had even written several books.  Oh boy.  This was too good to be true.  I am striking gold, I thought.  So, I ordered two books written by this Guru and before even reading them, called the ashram to try to schedule a trip to see this person in real life.  I’m gonna get me some shaktipat.

I asked a dear friend of mine to come with me on a weekend trip to a “retreat” to this ashram.  Neither of us really knew what an ashram was.  I think she thought we were going to a cool version of a spa.   You already know what was on Karenoia’s mind.  Gonna get me the shaktipat.  That’s my mantra and I’m sticking to it.
